OUR CLASSES

We offer classes to students ages 3 (and potty trained) to Adults in the following disciplines:

AFRICAN

Our students will study basic Afro-Cuban or traditional African dance.  All classes are accompanied by live drummers. Available for ages 3 and up.

BALLET

Younger students will learn the basics, including positions of the body, arms and feet, simple ballet terminology and elementary combinations. Classes for older students will begin with barre work and end with centre work. Available for ages 3 and up. Pointe and Partnering classes are available for more advanced students (permission required).

TAP

We offer a combination of hoofing and Broadway styles of the dance, rhythms and approaches that have been handed down from generation to generation.  Available for all students ages 3 and up. This is a recommended class for members of our Boyz Program.

JAZZ

We teach a combination of hip-hop, video, concert and Broadway styles.  Students may also be exposed to early forms of Black social dance, such as the Lindy Hop, Charleston and Jitterbug. Students ages 7 and up can take Jazz.

HIP HOP

We focus on urban contemporary movement and choreography set to hip hop music of the past and present. Students ages 5 and up can take Hip Hop. This is a recommended class for members of our Boyz Program.

MODERN

We focus on expressive movement and performance in the contemporary and lyrical styles, with an introduction to Graham and Horton techniques. Students ages 7 and up can take Modern.

DRUM

We teach the basics of djembe rhythms. Students must purchase or provide their own drum. Students ages 5 and up can take Drum. This is a recommended class for members of our Boyz Program.
